The Return of the Arm

Michael got his cast off at the end of July. This is what his arm looked like the day the cast came off. And he only had it on for 2 1/2 weeks! Fortunately, after a few days of washing and ample lotion applications it looked fairly normal again.
Though the bone was mostly healed, the muscles needed some retraining. He was unable to touch his hand to his shoulder, or to straighten his elbow fully. We were very faithful with the arm exercises and three weeks after the cast came off his arm was good as new.
He was such a trooper about the whole thing and we are all very grateful to have it over with!

Awe! It's so strange seeing bones after they've removed the cast. I remember Tyler's it was so scrawny after three weeks and he wouldn't walk on it for a bit. Glad its all healed up!
