New York

Dustin had some airlines miles and hotel points stocked up and we were long overdue for a couples vacation. Michael and James were THRILLED to get to spend a few days at Mimi's house in Oklahoma. So off we flew to New York. There are about a million pictures, so I will just hit the highlights.

First off the view from the hotel room. I opened the window and just started laughing.Time square with my BYU roommate Jenny who has lived in NY for years now and was an excellent tour guide
The church meeting house/family history library/temple in Manhattan10 points for the person who can identify the show this famous restaurant appears onThe view from the top of the Empire State Building
NYSEGrand Central Station where we had some of Juniors famous cheesecakeTiffany's was cool, but THIS was my favorite store on 5th Ave: Lindt chocolateMe killing everyone at Wac a Mole on Coney Island and winning a large stuffed banana

Belvedere Castle in Central ParkBrooklyn Bridge. We ate some amazing pizza just down the street in Brooklyn and had to wait in line 45 minutes just to get in the restaurant at 2:00 in the afternoon. This is a statue that was in the Plaza of the Twin Towers and survived. Sorta. It is now in a memorial in Battery Park.

The trip was AWESOME. We saw everything on my list and more. We came home totally exhausted and ready for a vacation from our vacation. But it was time for Michael to start preschool, me to start my new Primary president calling, and Dustin to start his season of constant travel for work. No rest for the weary!

Broken Arm, Take 2

Dustin was on his hands and knees. Michael was sitting on his back playing horse. All fun and games. Until Michael slides off and breaks his right arm.
Again.
Same arm, different bone. This time it was below the elbow instead of above, but the break was much worse. We took him straight to urgent care where we got these x rays. They put it in a splint and told us to go see an orthopedic surgeon. Luckily for me, Michael already had one. We made an appointment the next day and Dustin took him in. The bone was at a bad angle from the break, so we were scheduled for a procedure at Baylor Trophy Club to have the bone pushed back into the proper angle.
Michael freaked out a little bit while were were getting him changed and ready to go so they had to sedate him before they put in the IV. Luckily my mother in law Karen was there to be with us as Dustin had to leave town that morning.
Michael spent the rest of the day in a bit of a daze-but a good mood. He is in a heavy duty splint right now until the swelling and pain goes down. Then they can put a cast on. He actually slept last night too, so that is also an improvement.
Right now we are just praying that the bone stays put until the cast gets on. If it moves again, we start over. We are SO grateful for all the calls, emails, dinner, babysitting and especially prayers. Thanks everyone! I will do my best to keep Michael's legs firmly on the ground from now on.
