Basil

If you haven't ever grown basil, I recommend it. It doesn't take a lot of space. It doesn't mind the Texas heat, and I always have enough to dry to get me through the winter. Did I mention fresh basil tastes awesome in everything from omelette to bruschetta? If you must know, the real reason I grow it every year is because it's the only plant that can withstand my sporadic watering, lack of weeding and general inattention.
